2019 Massage & Nurse CE/CEU Trip to Europe:
Earn your CEs/CEUs overseas visiting three of the most spa-tacular countries in Europe: Iceland, Germany and the Czech Republic!  Shortly after your arrival in Iceland, students will be whisked away to the Blue Lagoon--an outdoor geothermal pool of sea and fresh water that is heated by a volcano and contains silica, algae, and minerals.  Students will have the opportunity to learn more about Thalassotherapy by experiencing a seaweed ceremony directly in the Blue Lagoon's steam room.  Afterwards, enjoy a beautiful ride to your hotel room, located just a short walk from the major attractions in downtown Reykjavik, which you will be free to explore for the rest of the day.  Weather permitting, you can even book a northern lights tour that evening (highly recommended). The following morning, students will enjoy a hearty breakfast and then have the entire day to spend sightseeing, book a local tour, or perhaps venture outside the city on their own to explore the magnificent landscapes that make Iceland so captivating and the backdrop of countless films.

The next morning, participants will fly to Germany and be transported to one of the most spectacular spas in the entire world--Friedrichsbad in Baden-Baden! Here you will get to experience a European Spa Water-Circuit firsthand where varying temperatures of mineral waters will gently lull you into a state of total relaxation as you progress through 17-stations, surrounded by the spectacular Roman-Irish architecture of this luxurious bathing temple founded in 1877. Your stop in Baden-Baden will be made complete with an evening visit to the charming Christmas market nearby to taste savory sweets and marvel at handmade and high quality trinkets as the holiday music, lights, and decor truly put you in the Christmas spirit.

Next, students will travel to the Czech Republic to experience the spa town which boasts the highest concentration of healing springs in the world--the beautiful Karlovy Vary.  Here students will enjoy class lectures on hydrotherapy followed by a visit to the famous Castle Spa that offers its guest the opportunity to partake in a Kneipp therapy station, electro-aerosol inhalation,
a Japanese acupressure pool, a thermal mineral pool, and much more! In addition, trip participants will also receive a "Drinking Cure Prescription" from a doctor to personally recommend which of the 12 springs they should drink from during their daily strolls along the promenade hall of the Mill Colonnade. Ample time will also be available to book individual spa services so that students can experience a mini "Kur" (battery of spa treatments to help improve health and wellness) at incredibly affordable prices.

The last two days of the trip will be spent in Germany where students will visit the largest thermal spa in the world--Erding Therme, which is filled with assorted mineral pools, an entire schedule of Aufguss ceremonies held in 13 of their 27 saunas (including a beer sauna!), and even has a waterpark with the world's longest tube slide! In addition, students will have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe: Munich's Christkindlmarket. Thousands of candles illuminate its giant Christmas tree, which spectators can enjoy while sipping on a mug of mulled wine and perusing its 20,000 square meters of booths and craft stalls to find the perfect handmade gifts for their loved ones before heading back home to the States to spread their knowledge of hydrotherapy and tales of this magical, once-in-a-lifetime trip to Europe.

Why Attend?

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the healthcare or hospitality profession to learn some of the most important phrases in German aboard a fun-filled cruise ship!  As a beginner's class with no prerequisites required, the  instructors will be using interactive games and innovative language learning techniques to ensure that students will retain the information and have fun while learning.  It is also an excellent precursor class for students wishing to attend our European Hydrotherapy Conference Trip in December of this or any other year because it will give you a chance to learn these valuable language skills before your arrival into Germany.  For licensed massage therapists in the state of Florida, you will receive 12 CE hours of live instruction that you can apply towards your 2017 renewal requirements.  In addition, the class will be held on the first "at-sea" day of the cruise, which will ensure that you still have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the cruise experience and the ship's stop at the beautiful Cozumel, Mexico.

*Please note that the listed price does not include the cost of your cruise fare and is only inclusive of the tuition for the class itself.  To view the exact cost of your cruise ship fare, please visit www.carnival.com and their November 9th sailing on the Carnival Ecstasy ship from the Port of Miami going to Cozumel, Mexico.  Keep in mind that taxes, port fees, drink packages, and gratuities are additional costs added onto the cruise ship's stateroom fare.  As of this writing (7/31/2015), the published fare was $159 per person in an interior cabin and totaled $485.46 for two people with the cruise rate, taxes, fees, and port expenses included.  In addition, this class is only approved by the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and has not yet been approved by the NCBTMB.
