COURSE POLICIES
DISCLAIMER
Teaching policies and regulations for these courses are not open for discussion or negotiation. The syllabi have been constructed to be as complete as possible but are by no means binding documents. The instructor reserves the right to alter policies, procedures, and the syllabi as needed.
HOW TO PROCEED THROUGH THE COURSES
1. Syllabus: Read the syllabus thoroughly and feel comfortable that you understand it, especially when it comes to the grading criteria and the
withdrawal process.
2. Notes: Be sure to take good notes during the instructor’s lecture. This will enable you to reference the class
concepts and material in the future. If you are taking a course through correspondence, it will also better prepare you for the multiple-
choice exam at the end of the class. Students taking non-live classes must attain a 70% or higher on the final exam to pass those classes.
Live classes do not have examinations at the end, but students who complete all nine courses in the Healing Hydrotherapy Series and wish to become certified in Hydrotherapy must complete a final examination before this certificate can be awarded to ensure competency.
3. Participation: This is paramount to your success in these classes. Class participation equates to 10% of your final grade and is an
extremely important factor to learning the steps of the hydrotherapy treatment being taught.
4. Grades: The instructor will assign grades at the end of the class. These will be reflected on the student’s transcript/certificate of completion.
5. Class Communication: During the class, there will be scheduled times for Q&A with the instructor. However, feel free to ask questions at
any time during the lecture. (We do ask that you please adhere to the class etiquette of hand-raising.) In addition, you can later contact the
instructor with any questions that you have regarding the course via the office phone or e-mail listed at the beginning of this syllabus. They
will do their best to respond within 48-business hours.
6. Course Completion Reporting: Harvest Field Institute of Learning will report students' course completion to CE Broker no later than 10
days after course completion. We understand that special circumstances may arise that require same-day course reporting to CE Broker.
Requests for earlier reporting can be accommodated but require advance notice from the student and a confirmation from the instructor,
stating that they will be able to report the student’s course completion earlier than 10 days. In this case, the student may be assessed an
additional fee of $10 for this expedited service at the discretion of the instructor. However, in the month of August during a renewal year,
every effort will be made to report students' course completion on the same day as the class itself at no additional charge to the students.
EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT METHODS:
Evaluation of learning includes participation in the hydrotherapy and/or massage therapy steps presented by the instructor during live, hands-on seminars and a multiple-choice exam for classes completed through distance/correspondence study. Final grades will be marked on students’ course certificate of completion for all non-live courses. Live courses are graded on a Pass/Fail basis, and students will be awarded with a certificate of attendance at the conclusion of the class. In addition, students taking a non-live, distance class must receive a 70% on the final exam to pass these courses.
Grading Criteria:
Participation: 10 points
Final Exam: 90 points
Total possible 100 points
When calculating the final grade, the following schedule is followed:
Point Range Letter Grade

80-89..................................B
75-79..................................C+
70-74..................................C

GRADING CRITERIA FOR EXAM:
There is one final exam for this class. Students will have 60 minutes to complete the 20 multiple choice questions. You will have TWO ATTEMPTS at the graded exam (both must be taken within the allotted 60-minutes) and the instructor will take the highest score as the final score. Each exam is worth 90 percent of your final class grade and students must achieve a 70% or higher to pass this class.
