ABOUT THE COURSES
The Healing Hydrotherapy Series is designed to provide advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), registered nurses (RNs), massage therapists, estheticians, and other spa/healthcare professionals with a deep understanding and extensive training in the fundamentals of hydrotherapy. The treatments covered in this program are an excellent combination to any full service spa, healthcare setting, or private practice and are a great way to enhance relaxation services without causing additional strain to the therapist provider. Some examples of treatments taught include European, all-natural body wraps/scrubs, Kneipp water & German Aufguss therapies, and European Spa Water-Circuit Treatments, which make these courses perfect for both the inexperienced and advanced hydrotherapy student. These classes can also be completed in any sequence, and students who successfully complete all nine of the Healing Hydrotherapy Series and final exam will be awarded with an "HP" (Hydrotherapy Practitioner) certification from Harvest Field Institute of Learning LLC. All hydrotherapy classes provide massage therapists with live continuing education credits that are approved by the NCBTMB (Provider #799) and both the Florida & Georgia Boards of Massage Therapy (Provider #50-17267). In addition, our classes are approved by the Florida Board of Nursing to meet the general continuing education needs of nursing professionals (Provider #50-17267). These classes are also accepted by several other massage therapy boards throughout the country, due to their NCBTMB approved status and/or course content. Courses will be offered in the United States, Caribbean, Iceland, and in Germany throughout the year*. Please visit the “Class Schedules” page for a list of upcoming classes and locations.
INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Mary-Rachel Clark, the course instructor for Harvest Field Institute of Learning LLC, holds a bachelor's degree in management and has been a licensed massage therapist in the state of Florida (MA41513) since 2004 and a licensed facial specialist in Florida (FB9725428) since 2006. She has worked at destination resorts here in the United States and internationally in Europe. While overseas, Mary-Rachel cultivated a passion for hydrotherapy by studying and implementing the works of early European hydropathists such as Sir John Floyer, Vincenz Priessnitz, and Sebastian Kneipp. Her fascination with the incredible effects of this healing modality has served as the inspiration behind the Healing Hydrotherapy Series, a sequence of continuing education classes she formulated to help improve the overall health and well-being of massage therapists, their clients, and other healthcare providers.
In addition to Hydrotherapy, Ms. Clark also provides instruction for classes in Florida State Laws & Rules, Domestic Violence, Recognizing Impairment in the Workplace, HIV Awareness, Professional Ethics, German Language Learning, and Preventing Medical Errors. In her early years of massage therapy, she worked extensively as an auxiliary volunteer in south Florida where she received excellent training in medical laws, accident/error prevention, and ethics in patient care. Over the past sixteen years as a licensed massage therapist, she has also taken numerous continuing education classes in these subjects and practiced implementing these concepts into both her own private practice and employment as a massage therapist at several different spas in both Florida and Germany. Complementing this experience and education, Mary-Rachel has also completed several Ethics, Law, and Health/Science courses at the collegiate level. By combining practical experience with theory, she has developed these classes to help healthcare workers increase their knowledge base in these key areas. |
